How can I find data (in Excel or other downloadable format) on armed conflicts worldwide, both internal and external, state and non-state?

Answer

The Uppsala Conflict Data Program offers a number of datasets on organized violence and peacemaking, including data on armed conflicts, both internal and external, state and non-state, in the period 1946 to the present.

The Armed Conflict Database has statistics, but they are not exportable to a spreadsheet.
