Answer

Although turn-around times may vary, in general:

  • Books from other JHU libraries (INTRA-library loan)  take between 1 and 3 business days, depending on the work load in Baltimore.  If you requested a book from another JHU library and it hasn't arrived within 3 days, please ask a SAIS Library Circulation Desk staff member to check on it for you.
  • Books from BorrowDirect libraries take 5 working days to arrive.  You will receive a confirmation email when you make the request.
  • Books from non-JHU libraries (INTER-library loan) usually take between 10 and 14 days to arrive, as most arrive via US mail.
  • Articles, and sometimes chapters of books, are generally available within 2-3 business days, and are usually delivered electronically.

Please plan ahead when doing research for papers and other projects!
